On Wednesday 28th October the Order of Malta Thailand donated seven wheelchairs to the community of St.Gerard Church, Khon Kaen, Diocese of Udon Thani some 550km from Bangkok. Fr.Paiboon Udomdej C.ss.R distributed the wheelchairs on behalf of the Members.
The Wheelchair Project has been running since 2016. The wheelchairs are purchased and distributed to the sick and poor, many living in dire poverty, in towns and remote villages. The wheelchairs provide the recipients with greater independence as they are otherwise usually reliant on family to move from their beds.
