On the occasion of the 33rd World Day of the Sick, which falls on February 11, 2025, the Order of Malta (Thailand), under its mission to defend the faith and care for the sick and the needy, co-organized the “Day of the Sick” event on February 15, 2025, at St. Mark’s Church in Pathum Thani. This marks the fifth time we have carried out this meaningful activity.
Volunteers and members of the Order of Malta, together with Catholic medical personnel and the ambulance team from St. Louis Hospital, as well as numerous volunteers from St. Mark’s Church and nearby community groups, joined forces to provide holistic care—physical, emotional, and spiritual—to bedridden patients and those in need.
The event included the Holy Mass and Anointing of the Sick, haircuts, nail trimming, breakfast and lunch, blood sugar and blood pressure screening, physical therapy, and lastly ice cream, bringing smiles and happiness to all. Participants engaged in heartfelt conversations, shared experiences, offered encouragement, and attended to health and wellness needs. Essential supplies were provided, including two patient beds. Most importantly, the event emphasized spiritual care, led by Father Carlo Velardo, our Chaplain, Father Thepprasit (the parish priest), and Father Chatree, who carried out their mission with great dedication.
Additionally, several members of the Order of Malta generously donated two wheelchairs, diapers, shoes, socks, snacks, and balls for children. We extend our heartfelt blessings to all the patients and community members, wishing them strength, resilience, and the abundant grace of God.❤️❤️❤️
